A white salt, soluble in water (insoluble in alcohol), it forms a strongly alkaline solution. It can be made as the product of potassium hydroxide’s absorbent reaction with carbon dioxide.
Potassium carbonate is used for the following
- Animal feed ingredient
- Buffering agent
- Brewing beer
- Cuisine (used as an ingredient)
- Cocoa powder
- Condensing aerosol fire suppression
- Electrolyte for oxyhydrogen production
- Fire suppressant
- In welding fluxes
- Mild drying agent
- Producing potassium silicate
- A catalyst for synthetic rubber manufacturing
- Soap, glass and china production
- Softening hard water
- Stability in neurons
- Wide application to fruit and vegetables, rice, wheat and other grains, sugar, corn, soybeans, palm oil and cotton, all of which benefit from the nutrient’s quality-enhancing properties.
